Can a silicone coating over an asphalt roof be a practical option? Sometimes—but that answer is not enough to approve a project. Before selecting a system, identify the exact asphaltic surface, document the roof’s condition, and confirm the preparation, primer, adhesion, repair, and application requirements for the specific silicone product.

Why an “asphalt roof” is not one surface
