BULLDOG® #82 Asphalt Primer – Spec Grade
Asphalt primer spec grade products play an important role in preparing surfaces before roofing, resurfacing, dampproofing, and waterproofing applications. BULLDOG® #82 Asphalt Primer – Spec Grade is designed to help create a reliable bond on metal, concrete, asphalt, and masonry surfaces before the next layer of protection goes down.
Built for Surface Preparation
BULLDOG® #82 is a light, brush-consistency, paint-like primer made from selected high-softening-point asphalts and petroleum solvents. It is formulated to adhere well to a variety of surfaces, making it a practical choice for contractors preparing roof decks, asphalt roofs, or masonry surfaces for additional asphalt-based materials.
Before a coating, membrane, dampproofing product, or waterproofing system can perform as intended, the surface needs to be ready. That is where BULLDOG® #82 gets to work. It helps prepare the substrate so the next application has a stronger starting point. Good prep is not glamorous, but neither is a roof system that gives up early.
Recommended Uses
BULLDOG® #82 Asphalt Primer – Spec Grade is used to prime metal or concrete roof decks before installing built-up roofing and modified bitumen roof membranes. It is also used to prime asphalt roofs in new construction or resurfacing applications.
This primer can also be applied to masonry surfaces to help create bond before additional asphaltic dampproofing products or waterproofing systems are installed. It is intended for exterior use only.

The product dries to touch within approximately 24 hours at the recommended application rate. As with any asphalt-based roofing material, surface conditions, temperature, ventilation, and application thickness can affect drying time and overall performance.
