BULLDOG Cold Process Coating #111AF

BULLDOG Cold Process Coating #111AF is a high-quality asphalt waterproofing coating from Palmer Asphalt designed for BULLDOG Cold Process Roofing and Resurfacing Systems. Made with asphalt, mineral filler, and/or stabilizers, this coating is formulated for seasonal variations to support easier application across changing jobsite temperatures.

Why This Product Matters

Cold process roofing systems give contractors and property managers a practical way to restore and reinforce flat asphalt roofs without immediately moving to full tear-off. #111AF plays a central role in that process by serving as the waterproofing agent within several BULLDOG Resurfacing Systems.

This product also helps clarify the connection between Palmer Asphalt and BULLDOG. Palmer Asphalt manufactures the BULLDOG line of roofing products, including coatings, cements, primers, fabrics, and resurfacing materials designed to work together as part of field-tested roofing systems.

Recommended Applications

#111AF BULLDOG Cold Process Coating is used as a waterproofing agent in BULLDOG Resurfacing Systems and to adhere fiberglass basesheets. These systems are designed for flat asphalt roofs, including both smooth and gravel-surfaced roofs, provided the roof has adequate drainage and does not pond water.

  • Flat asphalt roof resurfacing systems
  • Smooth-surfaced asphalt roofs
  • Gravel-surfaced asphalt roofs
  • Adhering fiberglass basesheets
  • Base coat applications in resurfacing systems
  • Interply coating in multiple-ply systems
  • Flood coat applications over the top ply
  • Polyester fabric-reinforced roof restoration systems

Apply a second coat over the membrane at a rate of 4 gallons per 100 square feet.

  • Application Method: Brush or spray
  • Primer: BULLDOG Asphalt Primer recommended before application
  • First Coat Coverage: 3 gallons per 100 square feet
  • Second Coat Coverage: 4 gallons per 100 square feet over embedded membrane
  • Dry Time: 2 days at the recommended application rate
  • Service Temperature: -30°F to +160°F

The data sheet notes that #111AF provides outstanding compatibility with #272 BULLDOG StitchBond Polyester Fabric and #326 BULLDOG Heavy Duty Polyester Fabric. After application, allow a minimum of 60 days to cure before applying a BULLDOG reflective coating to help protect the roof from the sun’s destructive rays. Suitable reflective coating options listed on the data sheet include BULLDOG Fibered, BULLDOG Non-Fibered, and BULLDOG/DUREX Elastomeric Coatings.

The Safety Data Sheet identifies this product as a flammable liquid and vapor and notes that it can cause skin irritation, serious eye irritation, and damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Use adequate ventilation, avoid breathing mist, vapors, or spray, wear appropriate protective equipment, and keep the material away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces.
