Heavy Duty Polyester Mat for Asphalt Roof Resurfacing
BULLDOG® Heavy Duty Polyester Mat #326 is a strong, flexible reinforcing mat for resurfacing smooth asphalt roofs. The material contains 2.1 pounds of polyester per 100 square feet. Contractors use this heavy duty polyester mat with cold-process asphalt solvent coatings or asphalt emulsions.
Built for Smooth Asphalt Roof Systems
The reinforcing mat is designed specifically for roofs with an asphalt base. It is not intended for other roof-surface types. When embedded in the specified coating system, the mat helps create a resurfacing assembly while adding less structural weight than conventional reroofing systems.

Heavy Duty Polyester Mat Application Guidance
Start with a clean, sound asphalt roof surface. Apply BULLDOG® Asphalt Primer and allow it to dry. Contractors reviewing a Palmer primer can compare BULLDOG® #82 Asphalt Primer – Spec Grade with the project requirements.
Next, apply the first coat of BULLDOG® Cold Process Coating or BULLDOG® Emulsion Roof Coating at 3 gallons per 100 square feet. Embed the mat while the coating remains wet. Then apply a second coating layer over the mat at 4 gallons per 100 square feet.
After the top coat has weathered for the required period, apply BULLDOG® Fibered Aluminum Coating or BULLDOG® / DUREX® White Elastomeric Coating. The Data Sheet lists three months of weathering for Cold Process Coating and 10 days for Emulsion Roof Coating.
