Mastic Emulsion Dampproofing for Exterior Masonry
BULLDOG® Mastic Emulsion Dampproofing #43AF is a trowel-grade mastic made with asphalt, water, reinforcing fillers, and fibers. Its smooth, paste-like consistency spreads easily and forms an even, quick-drying film. Contractors can apply this mastic emulsion dampproofing to exterior masonry walls above or below grade.
Built for Heavy-Coat Masonry Applications
This product is designed for masonry surfaces where a heavy dampproofing coat is desired. It can be applied to new, green, or damp masonry and requires no heating or thinning. In addition, crews can use it as both the base and surface compound in an assembly with an embedded reinforcing membrane.

Mastic Emulsion Dampproofing Application Guidance
First, remove grease, dirt, and oil from the damp surface. Then apply the material by trowel or special mastic spray equipment at approximately 1/8-inch thickness. One gallon covers approximately 13 square feet (1.2 square meters). Apply when the temperature is 50°F and rising.
Allow the outside shell to dry for approximately one day at the recommended rate. When the product is used below grade, wait 48 hours before backfilling. Do not expose the coating to freezing temperatures or rainfall before it has dried thoroughly. Also, keep the product from freezing during storage. Clean tools with mineral spirits or BULLDOG® #99 Asphalt Remover.
